The chicken recipe from Myrl Jeffcoat has me hungry now and I know there will be some good food at the party I will be attending.  I hope that everyone will enjoy their Super Bowl 2020, it has kind of become a holiday, haha.

SuperBowl 2020 is going to find me doing some serious couch time. I’m relaxing this year. It’s one of those rare events where family isn’t coming home, and I have no plans to do anything but pretend I’m a sloth most of the day.

While I won’t be cooking up anything special today, there have been past Super Bowls, with a couple favorites I have enjoyed! I often do most of the cooking.  However, on some days, the guys in the family will man the coals, knives, and skewers instead – that’s because guys generally cook best when flames and swords are involved.

So For a great guy kind of Super Bowl feast, try Beer Can Chicken, a recipe that has become popular in recent years.  In addition to the Chicken, I like serving Greek Orzo Salad. The two complement each other. I’m posting the recipes below to Carol Williams party as well as Anna Banana's.

BEER CAN CHICKEN

INSTRUCTIONS:

Rub down the chickens, while you are allowing the coals to burn bright and mature to the proper stage for cooking the chickens. While this is happening, open the same number of beer cans, for the number of chickens you will be cooking.

The next step is very important - Open the beer cans, and allow the BBQ guys to drink half of each can of beer, along with any beer they already have in their other hand:-)  This accomplishes two things. (1) It keeps the guys humored, while the coals are being tended, and (2) it will allow you to place the half full cans of beer into the chicken butts without spilling.

When the coals are ready, place all the standing chickens up on their beer cans onto the grill.  The liquid inside the can boils forcing flavor up and through the meat. It also provides entertainment while watching the little chickens on the grill, when they appear to dance around giving new meaning to the Chicken Dance. You can use fruit juice in a can instead.  I know that apple cider is also
