Pondering Skillsets

Pondering Skillsets  Ah, yes skillsets. We can admire them in others.  And we may aspire to achieve more, do better and enhance our own.  Because we are different those skills vary in all sorts of ways from one person to another.  No surprise there.

Each of us brings a different skillset. They may vary and change as we learn and continue to grow as well as experience this and that.

As I ponder, I wonder about skillsets as my mind continues to wander a bit.  Do you agree with thie following quote?  It definitely causes me to stop and think.  And that's good.  Each and every day.

Don't wish it was easier

wish you were better.

Don't wish for less problems

wish for more skills.

Don't wish for less challenges

wish for more wisdom

                                        Jim Rohn

Education and skillsets are among the most valuable things a person can possess.  By the way, when I first read your title line, I thought it read, "Skillets."

Myrl Jeffcoat - lol - I thought there might be others who saw the post title.  I admit I saw it similarly when I first saw it "published".

I have often read, you don't learn from things being easy, but being hard and overcoming them in some way. Like a muscle it needs resistance to build, same for us. But, it is nice when something is easy too. Those who have great training make things look easy, but everyone starts in the same place and has to learn the skills to make it look easy.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - it's definitely a lesson when we think of something that looks so easy but realize it is a bit more difficult when we attempt it ourselves.  "Looks" can be deceiving.  Practice and training help it make it appear much simpler at times.  Ahhh, reality.   Again.

At your recommendation, I studied the quote by Jim Rohn, one of the most influential motivators I know when it comes to business. Here are my thoughts: If things were easier, I can't imagine a better world when there is no sustainable competitive advantage. No, with reference to skillsets, I don't believe we were created to be equal in that area of our life. Our brains are as different as our bodies. Growth and opportunties for knowledge occurs when an individual pushes themself to think radically different and find better solutions, which often takes hard work, dedication, and time.

Thank you for giving me reason to ponder on a business matter that I am willing to experiment with and learn.
