With the Coronavirus taking it's toll on the travel industry this summer, there has been a swell in demand for inground pools around the country. Pool Contractor is reporting a seasonal industry wide growth of 30%+ in inground pool permits year over year. A recent poll conducted of over 1,000 pool contractors and pool companies from around the country has determined that 93% percent of pool builders are currently booked solid through the rest of the year. It's literally becoming impossible to find a pool builder right now the demand is so high.

What does this mean for folks in the Real Estate industry? The new emphasis on the "Staycation" is creating a visible trend emerging where homes with a pool may sell faster than those without one due to the high demand. It's a trend that folks in the real estate industry should anticipate in the next few years.

Here are some examples of "Staycation" style pools that homeowners are building in their backyards. These resort style pools are how some homeowners are choosing to invest this years summer travel budget.

Good morning Joe. Must say, who knew? Then again makes sense! Living in downtown Chicago, the wife and I are in a Staycation mode. Our leaders still have so much shut down, no place to go! Enjoy your day!
