As many of you know, I decided in the midst of the Pandemic to start a side business dealing in Antiques. It is my background and I am the fourth generation of my family along with my brother who have dealt in antiques.
I missed it a lot when I gave it up, and have enjoyed organizing some local antiques shows for local charities helping them with their fundraising. We all live in houses, but how we decorate them makes them a home. I have always had antiques around, since I was a child.
Recently I was asked by a local home seller, interestingly selling a coop, which is very rare in our area, just one of six properties on the market in the same development all listed with the same broker, to help them with some items they had. I introduced them to another dealer friend of mine who bought several things, and I purchased a group of prints and pictures from them.
I had put this group of four Caselle's Poultry Book prints on Facebook Marketplace and was contacted by someone who made me an offer. They are Brown Leghorns, White faced black Spanish, Dominiques and White leghorns. After some negotiation we agreed a price and where we could meet.
The buyer and I met up at a park in between us, he paid and I gave him his purchase all wrapped up. He has a wall of birds, and these will now be added to it.
Now onto the next sale. I noticed he is now following me on Marketplace to see what else I post. My website is still being created, but hopefully soon I will have that up and running. Now off to deposit my takings at the bank.
