We are spending a few weeks at our house in Florida. We had several days of rain.
Rather than seeing our Sandhill Cranes (I don't know where they are hiding) we said a number of these small white animals. I found out that they are Egrets.
According to Wikopedia, egrets are herons that have white or buff plumage, developing fine plumes (usually milky white) during the breeding season. Egrets are not a biologically distinct group from herons and have the same build.
I don't know if the rain brought them out but I spoted this one below in our back yard.
Hope to see the sun tomorrow.
