It's All The Rage!

While putting together this post I came across this T-shirt and it "fits" perfectly. Misery is all the Rage today.

Sad but it's true. Politics may come to mind but even greater is Road Rage. Chances are, if you have been behind the wheel... ever... in the last decade you have experienced road rage of some sort.

Just yesterday I had someone zip by me, cut right in front of me, drove half the speed limit for a couple of blocks and then flipped me off. I have no clue why.

No more than a half hour later I noticed a friends car looked like this:

I asked her why. "Road rage" she replied with tears in her eyes. My friend, around 50 years old, told me that a Escalade cut her off. She honked at her (a 30 year old girl) who promptly slammed on her brakes.

Road rage is something one can easily get sucked into like my friend did. Often I do. Yesterday Carol and Timmothy were in the car with me so I let mine slide when the fellow flipped me off. Actually I think it was a young lady that flipped me off. Now, seeing my friends car I think I'm going to let my road rage slide more often, like I did yesterday. I'm hoping the last time I had road rage will be...

Thanks for sharing Bob!!! Unfortunately its happening more often!!!

Road rage is something one can easily get sucked into like my friend did.

People have lost their civility.  It is so unfortunate that people are like this. And yes, I have experienced this myself last week.  I let it go.  Not worth the potential response to make it an issue.

Bob- sadly the Houston area has had an increase in road rage incidents. This has to stop. Take a deep breath and count to 10. Take a look at this video.

It is so hard to be civil when they put your life at risk, but if you are not, it could escalate even further.  I just had a long drive on Saturday and saw numerous angry drivers.  I just tried to stay away.

Hi Bob... I believe that people take out all their frustrations in the form of road rage because they feel more anonymous then. But I also see more of it and simply refuse to engage. Just not worth the penalties if you respond to the wrong person.

Bob,  there is so much rage in this country right now.  I certainly see it on the road. My response is to get out of their way and remain passive so as to not engage.

Yes, I have seen road rage, although luckily there's not much where I live now. There's an awful lot of stress and anger out there.

I've been sucked in several times Sham Reddy CRS but lucky for me nothing ever came of it except some foul language that I am not proud of.

That is some video Kathy Streib . Insane! To think that an incident would peak someone's anger to the point they would shoot at another is just insane.

That's it Nina Hollander, Broker . These people need serious therapy. I'd hate to see what happens when they get home with all that rage built up... I'm sure they kick the dog or a loved one who doesn't deserve it.

It's good to live in rural States like MT and ND Kat Palmiotti but even we are not immune as evidenced by my friends car pictured above.

Road rage is something everyone needs the ability to let go.  It's very dangerous to be angry while operating a multiple thousand pound vehicle.

I agree Chris Ann Cleland and maybe if some of these folks were charged with attempted murder they would learn to settle down.
