Fall is certainly in the air and lots of Fall decor is popping up everywhere. When we think about "decking the halls", we typically think about Christmas decor. However, we can certainly bring the Fall decor to our doorsteps and into our homes for a cozy, seasonal change.
Here are some excellent Fall decor tips:
Front Door & Porch - arrange pumpkins, baskets of mums, bales of hay, and Fall-themed wreaths to create an instant, "Welcome Fall" look. Create a corner that appears natural and free-flowing. The more natural materials the better to avoid a too "crafty" appearance.
Fall Scents - Nothing says Fall like cinnamon, apples, nutmeg, and cloves. The best way to fill your home with these scents is with essential oils being diffused, or simmering fresh spices directly on your stove. Do avoid toxic, "perfumey" scents such as Plug-ins, sprays, or other chemically-loaded scents. Not everyone can tolerate these chemicals.
Home Decor Touches - By placing a few Fall items throughout the house is another way to instantly transform your home. The key, however, is to do this sparingly. Too much of anything is overwhelming. A Fall throw, a few decorative pillows, and a Fall flower arrangement will bring welcomed seasonal accents to your home.
The key to your Fall decor needs to remain tastefully simple. Not every corner of the house needs to be covered in Fall. Use your decor tastefully and remember, more is not always the goal.
Have fun welcoming the cooler weather into and around your home. If you have your home on the market, adding some seasonal decor is a great idea to create that instant-cozy feel. Happy Fall, Y'all!
