Have You Been To The Rogue Creamery in Central Point Oregon?

Krista - Aren't they? Very unique, and wonderful with various wine selections and food menus.

I received the following correction from Rogue Creamery. On a visit to your plant in 2006, my group arrived with a group who had come in on a tour bus, and I thought they were getting a tour. My apologies! See following:

"Hi Karen,

I am the plant manager and head cheese maker for the Rogue Creamery. I seen in your blog that it says we give tours...I am sorry to say we do not give tours. 9-11 changed many thing in our lives and protecting our food chain is one of many changes from the Department of Homeland Security. We have a window viewing area that offers a view into our Cheddar Cheese make room. A few times a week we make cheese viewable to the public with fresh warm out of the vat "squeeky" cheese curds about 3pm on make days. We also have a wonderful store staff that will take with guests about our history and making processes. On Saturdays we host a local vinyard with wine tasting and usually I meet with customers for a one on one talk, Q&A about our yummy cheese

I find it sad that such wonderful tours have had to stop after 9/11, but such is the world today. Thank you for the info, Craig.

Lisa - A Banana Boat Smoothie, eh? sounds like a wonderful after church treat. Yes...I think you should blog about it! :-> Thanks for the idea on the College Scholarships, by the way. This week, the proposal came out from a local group promoting similar scholarships for our college students.

Debbie - There are so many great places to visit here in Southern Oregon, I love to share my experiences with others. And to know they are reading is a big bonus!

**Update** - Per an articlein today's Mail Tribune in Medford Oregon, the Rogue Creamery was the esteemed recipient of four awards at the 25th Annual American Cheese Society's Competition held July 25th in Chicago for their cheeses. Definitely worth checking them out!
