Hiring Administrative Help

By

Many agents have talked with me about their need for administrative help.  There always seems to be a need to hire "someone", but that person's tasks aren't always clearly defined.  Before hiring, the need must be clear - what does your business need from the position you want to hire?

I have long advocated virtual assistants.  I have two assistants - a regular admin assistant, and a virtual transaction coordinator.  My virtual transaction coordinator is the best "hire" I've ever made.  I pay her on a per-transaction basis, and I never come out of pocket for it. My buyers and sellers all agree up front that they will pay an administrative fee at closing, and that fee pays for my transaction coordinator.

What better employee could you have than one who is great at their job, and never gets paid by you? I wish they were all like that!

Be careful with your admin help. They can make or break you. A good assistant can make your life a LOT easier and allow you to concentrate on money-making duties. Just make sure you know what needs must be fulfilled before you start interviewing.
