The Power of Blogging

Can we discuss the power we have within our reach?

This incredible tool way surpasses any expectations I might have had.  Not long ago I wrote a blog for LOCALISM about DownTown Miami Shores.  The post included names of businesses and photos of the area.

To my surprise, while visiting our pediatrician, Dr. Laura Fernandez-Ortiz - who happens to be a Miami Shores resident as well as a good friend - she told me that a patient had found her through my post!  This patient was not aware of her move, went on line and found my post with her information.   HOW COOL IS THAT!!

So for all of you that blog about small local businesses - you are doing them a ton of service.  We are helping other businesses and it should feel great!  Not only are we showing that we are experts in our markets, but the power transcends to be able to help others.  So keep up the good work and keep pumping out great LOCAL CONTENT!  You don't know who may read about your local repair shop, or the local park; not only will the consumer find what they are looking for, but they will remember who provided the information.   BLOG ON!

Cyndee - I think the post is great and the Real Estate Show gives it a great touch.  I started using it for local content as well and the result is incredible.  Thanks for adding the link.

Patricia - you would be surprised how many people don't blog or don't even know what "blogging" is.  We are at the forefront of technology.

I agree blogging is a great way to talk to, maybe the world and local folks in your business.  I discovered that you are limited to how many you can post in a week.

I need to blog about some of the local businesses here. I know of a few that could use the help.

Charles - you know what I find limiting?  the amount of hours I need to sleep for my brain to function half-way descent, I would blog a lot more if it wasn't for sleep cutting into my blogging time!    ; )

Guy - I like your slogan!  pretty catchy - blog on!

Christy - I can guarantee something - it can't hurt you or them.  I just goggled "Miami Shores Pediatrics" and my Miami Shores blog is number one!

Great story, I'll have to start doing the same.  I'm always looking for what kind of content to put on Localism.

Ines,

What a great story! I honestly never thought to blog about the shoppes and businesses in my area, other than a passing mention. I can see now where that would be an excellent idea, both for them and for us!

Brian- What's funny is that my kids now come up to me with great "blogging ideas" - "hey mom, why don't you blog about the deli?"  or "mom, that would make a great blog!"

Karen- you can bet on that and better believe I will keep on blogging about those local businesses.

Rick & Ines...congratulations and thanks for sharing.  I was found on Active Rain within the first 3 weeks of membership by an out of state investor.  That investor has now become a long term client for me and I am still in shock.  When I joined Active Rain I though it was limited to communication with other Realtors across the country and sharing of ideas.  Boy has your an my world been changed!  Have a great week ahead and "Keep on Blogging"!

George - congrats on that client - I love to hear those stories.

Charles - making the public aware is ultimately getting the credit - not bad for doing something unselfishly.
