When you put the two above graphs together...
In general the trend is ~ the quicker the home sells the closer to the listing price your home will sell (see Q3/07). The longer a homes sits on the market the lower the percentage (Q2/07). Frequently homes that sell quickly get 90%+ of the asking price. When a home is on the market for 200+ days (or much more) you can see percentages as low as 65%.
These are general observations, there are other factors that get into the mix.
Here is a presentation of the low, median and high sold prices of homes per quarter. The lowest sold prices are around $650,000, not a lot of fluctuation there. However on the high end, occasionally a higher priced home or large parcel of land with the home is sold for over $10,000,000.
A slightly different presentation of number of homes sold per quarter within the last three years. 2006 was the best of the last three years, but this last quarter this year there is an increase in home sales. We will see shortly if the last quarter of this year will continue the trend.
The average price per square foot has just about reached its level from a year ago, just over $450/square foot. Per Quarter.

Monthly numbers of homes sold. February of each year appears to be the month when the least number of homes are sold. October 2008 more home sold than in Oct 2007.
