Could You Do It? Would You Run Away To Live In The Maine Woods...For Good?

You try to stay cheerful, hopeful, grateful, content.  But where you live now, there is a hustle bustle and an angersmyrna maine amish community, mooers realty photo or folks pushing, racing, hurrying.

It all creates an anxiety, an unsettling feeling that makes you want to bolt, to be where you are not bothering anyone or in somebody's else way.

You want to be far enough from people for at least some periods so you can spend some time with yourself.

To get to know what you enjoy that you need to look into more fully, to read and grow as a person.  Is the thought of moving to Maine full time, living in the woods with a cleared spot to grow your own food and heating with wood from your own land in the home you built from stratch appealing or scary? Could you do it?

More and more folks are thinking population centers are not healthy from a crime, pollution, stress perspective and if life is short, the clock is ticking. Where to start? Finding the right location, developing a time table of the switch from dependent on much to living off grid and relying more on your own skills, your own wit and common sense.

Couples considering the move should do some homework before loading up the mini van and heading deep into the woods.

Being "unplugged". It is not all pretty, it is hard work and there are concessions.  But with world economic chaos, fears growing over lack of trust in government or the belief that if you work very hard, you can help see more and more of your dollars going into supporting the masses...maybe a whole new direction of the wagon train is needed.

If you are looking for a lower population of fewer but friendlier people, Aroostook County has four seasons, 11 people per square mile and there are already maine real estate broker, mooers realty owner andrew mooerslots of folks doing now what you are dreaming of for down the road. Smyrna Maine is the community site for an Amish group that has flourished with a simpler, God fearing, slow paced life of no frills and honest labor on the farm and in the woods.

Maine. Can you see your self off grid, "unplugged" and living off the land?

Andrew this is a great post for Northern Maine Real Estate.  Substance in life trumps stuff.  What you are sharing defines that character in America still exists.

Hey, I'm an old New Yorker!  Moving to Washington had an element of moving to a quiet place!  It's all relative, I guess.
