Lets start with your word. This can accomplish great feats, motivate people, create, destroy and cause movement that leads to action or inaction. Stop and ponder this. I meet people all-day who completely misuse and disrespect their own word that comes out of their mouth. I come from the point of view that I believe a person until I have a reason not to believe that person. The persons word controls that outcome

I DON'T GET IT

Here's another. What price do you put on credibility? Your word supports this action and if you misuse your word, you automatically lose credibility. These things are are beyond purchase and more important than money, power and fame. Often people have the words but no music. WHY? They lack credibility. In simple earthly parlance..."I don't get it" thoughts or statements hang thickly in the air

YOU EITHER DO...OR YOU DON'T...OR RATHER NOT SAY

How about trust? This can put brakes on anything if it is in doubt and stop all things dead if a lack of trust is discovered in play. If someone trusts you, a whole set of dynamics go into play different from if they don't trust you. This is definitely a game-changer and not to be taken lightly either

PLAY-FAIR SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SAID OR TOLD

Fair-play is another powerful dynamic. Even kids will call out NO FAIR when playing the simplest games if someone tries to shortcut or manipulate a simple move or action. It just doesn't sit well to let it go by without saying something. If happening, people note it and if not, they note that too

I DECLARE....?

How about a promise to perform? Why would you formally declare that something will happen and that you will be the one to make sure it does and then not do it? Yes, there are circumstances out there that will and can interfere with the process, but then you are saying that you can prevail when you promise something. If not, DON'T. Pause when putting this into action. Your whole being is at stake

YOUR FORGIVEN

Forgiveness is another powerful dynamic. We can release someone from their error whether planned as in "deliberate" or perhaps by their ignorance and error and when we do, we are the better for it even if it hurts right down to our bone. Then, there are those who when they receive this, make good use of it too

IF NOT NOW...WHEN?

Inaction is another that we don't pay much attention to. We were not put here to do nothing but to the contrary, everything that crosses our path summons our input and is an invitation to interact with. We are suppose to make a difference and you can jump in anytime, anywhere and for any reason as you see fit or why are you here? Ask and answer that to your own satisfaction and purpose

FINDING FAVOR WITHOUT EFFORT

Look what we take for granted. If these were for sale, who wouldn't purchase them knowing how valuable and necessary they are? But, they are not for sale! They are free and given even before the asking. Ponder this and when using these virtues correctly, gratitude for them is duly noted by the one who gives all good gifts

Attack the problem, build solutions that all can buy into, push for and be on the same page. The personalities, hurt feelings, makes the business a challenge, sharpening our Dr Phil skills on expectations, what happens next and why. I think you are talking situational ethics with the forked tongue, both sides of mouth habit, reflex.

Thanks Richie, this reminds me of my grand father and older gentlemen I have met when I was a young boy. Watching them play a game of checkers in front of a store's sidewalk. I remember them telling me that a man's word meant a great deal to them. Without it your have nothing. A man's word was his bond. And it went along with his hand shake. I believe this still holds true today as well.

You also reminded me of all the reasons I neither, like, respect nor trust "Obama"... I'm sure that was not your intention but can you really say the shoe doesn't fit...

Beth...we remember these actions in people. they come and go, but these Universal princiapls stay to be given until the current system is through. On our current President, to rise to such a high office and not put doing the right thing before everything else at any cost makes one take note
