Wordless Wednesday…An Unexpected Delight

Larry and I love our walks. Besides being a great way to get some exercise in and to have daily social interaction, it’s also fun exploring the animal life around us.

We’ve seen snakes, birds, armadillos, rabbits, raccoons, and coyotes but never a bear!

Coming upon these unexpected treasures, always brightens our day.

Be open to the unexpected.  Keep your eyes and ears alert to what may pop up next. Make sure that your heart is prepared to always enjoy the moment.

Be patient. The best things happen unexpectedly.

Good morning Kathy. Be patient. The best things happen unexpectedly is a mantra for many things, even a bear sighting. Enjoy your day.

Hello Kathy - it wasn't exactly a Goldilocks moment but I have seen at least three bears while out and about but never an armadillo.

It's the very simple things in life that are so interesting.

Walks, talking with people, enjoying nature and real life is just way more interesting than dulling the senses on a phone.

I agree faye schubert We went out this morning even though it was drizzling and 37 degrees out. Of course, we did not last as long as we normally do.

Good morning, Kathy... now that's the kind of bear I don't mind running into. Meantime, hopefully you are staying safe and warm. The weather reports for Texas at my end are not sounding good.

Nina Hollander, Broker I'm not sure we ever got above 40 and since it has been cloudy and rainy off and on, it seems much worse. Dorie Dillard Austin TX in Austin had the ice storm as did Dallas. Our walk today lasted  all of 10 minutes, I think. The winds made it bad.

Kathy Streib glad to hear your area avoided the worst of the storm.

Good morning Kathy,

One of the pleasures when you walk ..so many unexpected delights you might find as long as you keep your eyes open and senses freed up to soak up your surroundings. I see some talking on the phone when walking and they miss the very reason they are out walking.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX I see the same thing when we're out. And I see moms with toddlers in their strollers  and eyes glued to their tablets. Look what they're missing!

Too funny Kathy Streib . Who ever placed the bear there had to have had a good sense of humor. My post today was about bears as well.

Hello Kathy,  I was listing a house in Littleton back in 199 and there was a bear sleeping in the backyard of my client.  We call animal protection and within 10 mins, we had 3 news helicopters flying around and woke him up.  He climb down the tree and jump the fence and get going till the animal protection guy got him.

That is such a delightful discovery to see, Kathy.  On one of the trails along the American River Parkway that I frequent is an old fallen Oak tree.  This fall, it had several pumpkins on it.

Hi Kathy Streib - The only time I saw a bear besides in the zoo was a visit to Alaska.  It was a grizzly bear.  We do get an occasional bear in Sedona, in fact, there was one in my neighbor's backyard.  But I didn't see it!
