West Point Basketball Girls 1956 Memories! They are so much fun! And looking at this picture which came from the 1956 White County Basketball Tournament held in Rose Bud AR in February 1956 has to make you smile. One of the girls, front row, left to right, sent me copies of 5 years of programs. The tournament was called "The South's Most Spectacular Cage Tournament" and the program cost 25 cents with about 36 pages of ads and other information. Someone gave my husband an old 1956 football program that had lots of football players and their pictures in the advertisements. Here are two of the ads. They seem more creative than most. I like the way Headlee Drug Store says that if you are looking for "him" or for "her" you'll find anyone there because it was the hangout.
I also like the "Ole Po-Dunk and his gang" ad saying that you could always come in and the boys would have something to say. Wonder who was in charge of this football program? And are the present ones this … (4 comments)
