clarksville: Christmas at Fort Defiance, Clarksville TN - 2018 - 11/28/18 04:54 PM
It's Happening Again Christmas in Occupied Clarksville TN
Fort Defiance will be having a celebration depicting a Christmas during the occupied years of the 1860's. These were hard times during the Civil War back when Christmases were simple. A special meal or dessert was shared, a small gift perhaps or sharing a piece of candy made this time of year special. This is something to see and reflect on. Christmas in Occupied Clarksville is a special event.
The day is Sunday, December 16th from 3-4 and again from 5-6 PM. Step back in time with period costumes, reenactments, Santa, games and refreshments. Santa will be there to read to children. Fort … (8 comments)

clarksville: Shop Small Business Saturday in Clarksville- 2018 - 11/22/18 06:01 PM
Small Business Saturday, November 24 in Clarksville TN

Saturday, November 24th is Small Business Saturday in Clarksville TN. Small businesses have a hard time keeping the door open and competing with nationwide retailers and big box stores. Shopping small helps give them a boost and shows them locals still care about the small business owner and store owner. These are some I highly recommend.

The Roxy Regional Theater- This community theater has given me so much enjoyment over the years as I am glad to recommend them. I have been able to pick up some deals on tickets and spend some fun evenings with friends and family. … (14 comments)

clarksville: Is Clarksville's Real Estate Market Changing? - 11/21/18 06:26 PM
Clarksville, Tennessee's Market Is Changing

What a great year in real estate we have had in Clarksville. As we go into the winter months changes are happening. Yes, buyers are still buying but not at the rate they were earlier in the year. 2017 was a gangbuster year.

We have seen homes come on the market and almost immediately go into multiple offers. Then other neighborhoods are having trouble selling homes and prices are coming down. This is the normal ebb and flow of real estate.

Sellers are recognizing that the market is changing and to get a jump, they are adjusting … (4 comments)

clarksville: Is It Smart to List Your Home During the Holidays? - 10/31/18 05:50 PM
Are the Holidays A Good Time to Sell Your Home?

Cooler weather has set in and stores are decorated for the holidays. Though I haven't heard any Christmas Carols yet except in my office, I know that people are talking about the holiday dinners, parties and gift buying. With Thanksgiving a couple of weeks away and Christmas a few weeks after that, you might be thinking there is no use in trying to sell right now, that nobody will be looking for a home during the holidays. That isn't so. Should you wait until spring?
If your home has already been on the market and it hasn't … (10 comments)

My office has been decorated and giving candy for several weeks but today is the big day. Most of the staff will be in costume. What fun!
Be mindful this is all in fun and enjoy. Be happy! Drive carefully and watch out for the children trick or treating. Go slow and expect to see lots of activity on the roads as the evening hours approach. If you … (10 comments)

Handmade Holidays in Clarksville TN is happening soon and it brings plenty of opportunities to finish up your Christmas shopping or to get good start. This is not your ordinary Craft and Holiday Bazaar as more than 60 artists come from far and wide to display their creations. I particularly like the pottery vendors and like to pick up an unique new piece or two. Years past I bought serving bowls and pieces. This year I am looking for flower pots.

There are also many local artists that bring a limited supply of treasures. Come early for the best selection. They do sell out each year. Handmade Holidays … (7 comments)

clarksville: Fall Plantings Add Color When Selling Your Home - 10/20/18 08:03 PM
This is still a good time to put your home on the market. Though the grass isn't quite as green and the flowers of spring and summer are waning, there are some colorful choices to make your home have a bright exterior appearance and to catch the attention of fall buyers.
A trip to my local garden shop showed that fall plants are in abundance this year. The summer flowers and closeouts are over. Christmas trees shaped plants are beginning to arrive. Adding some colorful plants and flowers shows you care about your home and the small investment will have great returns..
Ornamental cabbages are … (15 comments)

clarksville: Saturday Smiles - Sunflower Power - 10/20/18 07:29 PM
Sunflowers
The end of the summer is a little sad as the bounty of flowers die off and cease giving forth blooms. Some parts of the country have already had snowflakes and heavy frosts. Most of the flower blooms are succumbing to the cold nights and the lack of extended hours of warm sun during the daytime.
However, this sunflower is not ready to let go. It is standing tall and looks unaffected by the nights we have had in the 30's and 40's. I love seeing sunflowers in their bright yellow colors. Their strong stature and color show that fall hasn't overtaken all of … (9 comments)
