The time of the year where everyone whines about getting sick is finally coming to a close. Some refer to it as "flu season," I call it "scheming industry out of a free day away from work season." Although I know my name for it is not as catchy, it is much more accurate. I find it disgraceful when people take sick days on the company dime due to their illnesses. Corporate America will be relieved to know that I have a plan to tackle this abomination.

Last night, I noticed a surge protector, fully loaded with plugs, including another surge protector - which was also fully loaded with plugs! If this office continues to mock my fire safety memos, they're going to get burned. Literally. Do you know what a fifth degree burn feels like? It feels like nothing... because your hypodermis will all be burned off, straight down to the blackened muscle, tendons, and ligament, destroying your pain-sensing nerves in the process. I'm sure anyone that was in or around Chino Hills felt the quake yesterday, our office was no exception.  In view of the hysterics that went on here then, and later in the evening with the whole Herb/Ed ordeal, I'm inclined to offer some basic tips once again for general safety.  In order to deal with these situations, emergency preparedness MUST become a way of life.  In the event of a major earthquake or disaster, freeways and surface streets may be impassable and public services could be interrupted, as were our phones in the office as well as cell phones.  Everyone … (0 comments)
