I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

Until I met my neighbor around the corner, Betty, I thought BOGO was a brand name, not an acronym for "Buy One - Get One Free."  I'll never forget going to a department store, and searching all over in the dress section for the BOGO brand.  I guess that provides a glimpse in to how shopper s...

When I left the local Farmer's Market this Saturday, I thought, fresh peaches and plums were likely to quickly come to seasons end.  However, up the road along highway 50, an  hour drive east of Sacramento, is a special place cradled in the arms of the Sierra Foothills.  Apple Hill, in autumn com...

I have lived in my current home since 1983.  I love this place, even though it was built in 1963 - before "Internet" was a real word in our vocabulary.  In fact, we didn't even have cable TV in the Greater Sacramento area in 1963.  I don't plan on moving, but I do sometimes envy the newer h...

It is no secret that a number of homeowners have watched as their home values have plummeted in recent years.  Generally, these folks are individuals who purchased homes in the last few years, at the height of the market, and now find their homes worth less than they paid for them.  If you f...

If you believe what national news media announced today, the recession is over.  In fact it's been over since July 2009.  That's 14 months ago, folks!  So why is it most Americans aren't feeling the love? In July 2009, the California unemployment rate was 11.6%.  Today, it stands at 12.4%.  Wall...
