I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

The Greater Sacramento Region rarely receives snow, although we sometimes experience hail. However, I was perplexed this morning, when a local newscaster, reported the Natomas area had received as much as 4 inches of “graupel.” I had never heard that term before. So, with curiosity getting the be...

Off and on, since last autumn, I have been on a mission to relocate a population of masked invaders, who seem to believe they have property rights to my backyard.  I have a small fish pond which acts as their private Sushi bar, while they cavort in the water, as if they believe it to be the Jacuz...

I discovered this amazing scene outside my bedroom window awhile ago. A change is on the horizon.  After several days of Sacramento temperatures in the low 70s, we dipped to 58 degrees with breezes today.   As much as we need rain, we have experienced none this month.  The weatherman predicts coo...

Ah, February 14th - Valentine’s Day.  Each year, I have the feeling there is a little more in the air than benevolent pure love.  This ‘other' feeling isn't coming from the warm caring feelings of one near and dear with the aid of Cupid's bow.  Instead it arrives with the specter of Tax Forms f...

It was late last autumn while cleaning out my closets, that I made a conscious decision, to tell my kids that I wished for no durable goods for Christmas.  Only consumable goods that take up either no space, or temporary space, I begged.  Near the top of my wish list was a ticket to St. Mel’s Cra...

Sacramento County experienced a 13% increase in number of homes listed FOR SALE in January 2018 vs. the same month a year ago. For the same period there was a -1.2% decrease in homes SOLD. Pending Sales increased 21.9%. Interest rates continue to remain reasonably low.  For those able to find sui...

THE WINNERFor several years I have found several beneficial marketing tools that provided good business return, while at the same time cost little, and were a great deal of fun.  Each Halloween I created little Trick or Treat bags, filled with candy, and a Free Comparative Market Analysis Certifi...

I had difficulty sleeping in the wee hours of this morning, so I switched on the television and tapped into Netflix streaming.  The title I chose was “Water and Power: A California Heist.”  It is a National Geographic production which reveals how a handful of water barons managed to gain control ...

At the beginning of this year, when Debbie Reynolds challenged us to the "Making 2018 the Best Year Yet - An ActiveRain Challenge," I immediately decided I would rise to the task.  However, it is now the afternoon of the very last day of the month, and I am just now jotting down my three goals I ...
