Wordless Wednesday - What Is This Beautiful Tree? - UPDATE

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Top Agent Plus
While on the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this past weekend,
we came upon this beautiful surprise.

It was showing all it's hot "pink" glory in honor of the event.

Does anyone know the name of this tree?

I believe Kimo Stowell has solved the mystery of the flowering tree.
Thank you Kimo.

It may be a variety of the Hawthorn Tree.  Most of the photos I could find show white flowers, it could have been grafted with another tree, not sure. It is a very beautiful tree.

I don't know the name of the tree, but good for you for doing the walk!I do the 3day walk every year.  Ours is in Cicago, Aug 7,8,9.

It is a nice tree too!

Judy, it looks like an old fashion rose bush. Oh, wait, the leaves are not those of a rose. I'm clueless.

Judy, definitely NOT roses, but I would be curious as to the name too. Very colorful.

Cindy - The Breast Cancer walk is awesome. I don't know how you do the 3 day, walking 20 miles a day for 3 days and especially in the August heat.  You are amazing.

Montana - I flunked too. I hope someone can solve the mystery for us.

Marianne - Now I will have to look up the old fashioned rose bush out of curiosity.

Liz - Has me stumped.

Gary - Everyone was stopping to admire its beauty. I would love to know more about it and how long it is in blossom. I hope someone sees this and can let us know.

Hi Judy ~ Funny - Since I had never seen anything like this I scrolled up to see what part of the country you were from only to discover we're in the same neck of the woods. It's very beautiful - it's been such a wonderful spring for all the flowering trees.  What town was it in?

Judy - I don't have a clue but the flowers on the tree look very similar to one of the pots on my back deck.  All the best.

Liz - The park this tree was located in was along the walk route, I believe it was in Cambridge (your back yard). ;-)

Kimo - I am pretty sure you have the right answer.  I really would like to have one of these in my yard.  Thank you so much for solving the mystery.

Kenneth - Potted plant or flowering tree, they are all nice to enjoy.

Judy, I will be coming back to see if you got the answer! I would love to plant one of those in my garden, since hot pink is my favorite color to plant!! Great photo!

Good for you to walk for breast cancer! Those walks are very well attended here and we do need to support that cause.

Judy, LOL. Sorry. The Cecile Brunner is an old fashion climbing rose bush, that I originally thought it was. But, a Hawthorn Tree makes perfect sense.

Kimo - Thanks again for providing the variety and link. It was very much appreciated. By the way, loved your new featured post about color.

John - You should have seen it in person. It just drew you in like a bug drawn to a light.  ;-)
