Had Any Experience With Single Page Address Websites for Listings?

A fellow realtor suggested using single page address websites for listings due to their affordability and to impress sellers.

I am always looking for better and more creative ways to reach further into the market regarding advertising.

Are they effective or a waste of marketing dollars?

I appreciate your input!

It is a great way to first gain the listing.   Go to GoDaddy and buy the site for $7.  That is the only real advantage of doing this, but it is pretty powerful.  i.e. I have your street address as a website and no one else does or can.

Then what you can do is to tie that website name to your website for that particular listing.  I had prepared a whole new website, but that takes too much time to set up for each listing. One listing is fine, but we typically have 40-50, so that can become cost prohibitive.  Thus, linking takes two minutes and your done and they think you have spent alot of money and time putting it together.

In reality, the website name gets very little traffic. But getting the listing is pretty nice.  Oddly, I get substantially more people that will type in a virtual tour number verusus an address.  I don't really understand that one.  Anyhow, go for it, but realize that the purpose is to insure you get the listing.

I have heard about this from one of the title companies here.  They had a program that you signed up for with them and they provided the website for the property address along with various other items at a discount to the agent.  I agree with Tim the agents that used it were using it as part of the listing presentation.  And of course the title company was using it as a way to market to the agents.

Thanks Erica! I just want to be educated regarding this marketing venue to find out if it is worthwhile.

That is an interesting idea.  I wonder if it was placed on your website or blog and you were able to drive traffic to either one that it would then get exposure.  It is unlikely that you would drive traffic to the go daddy site but for $7 who cares?  Of course driving traffic to one's website is 90% of the battle anyway now isn't it?  LOL

Wanda, I use these, but through my Point2 site which allows single page sites, but not it's own domain.  I think it's great for listings, but it takes work to optimize the page for the neighborhood, after all, how many people will be searching for this specific address?

Nevin, Yes, it is about driving traffic and finding more creative ways to advertise! Have a great weekend!

Gabe, You made a great point regarding the specific address...most people probably wouldn't be looking for an address...Thanks!

Erica, My goal is to sell as well! What I'm finding out is that single page address web sites are a great listing tool but offer no other value.
