The hustle bustle of everyday life is upon us now more than ever. When we wake in the morning, our minds race to meet up with our thoughts and we go through mentally... where we must go to physically.... and then we prepare for the journey. We jump in the shower, do the the necessaries, dress for success, coffee up, and then hit the road.
The day I am describing above is a typical day of the 365 days in the year. Is there anything that makes it special or stand out from let's say the day before or last week? We find ourselves rushing from destination to arrive and then only to leave again......But did you take in the journey? Did you notice the details....the simple things?
Did you set aside moments to reflect or look around wherever you went? Did you notice others coming to and fro just like you? Did you hear or see anything special to make this day different? It is different you know.
How about you? Did you contribute to something or someone so that at the end of this day, someone else was touched by you? It doesn't have to be a big deal. Perhaps a smile, a kind word, or maybe you held the door for someone....come on, you know what I am talking about. You just stopped doing that's all......
I once got to a parking space before someone else did, he saw it and I saw it and was able to maneuver just a little better than the older gentlemen. I pulled in and parked and then I saw the look on the elder mans face and I rolled down my window and said, I'm sorry sir, is this your space? He said, yes it is (it wasn't). I pulled out and found another place. Ran into him later in the same building and we exchanged glances. We said a lot without saying a lot.....if you know what I mean.
I often come across well dressed people who pride themselves on looking and giving their best. I take the time to acknowledge them because they took the time to want to be acknowledged and it is time well spent for both.
You can go through your days so that they all look a like. THINK: one big blur.......boring blur I might add. Or you can mark each day with a special memory....something that you create and give of yourself.
The opportunities abound and I would hope that the next time you wake-up in the morning,......that is the last time you take a day and..... make it into a day like every other day. INSTEAD....Make it a day like no other day!
I know we go from point A...to....point B and this must be done, but I want you to C....... this time around......
