Fighting the Battle of the Bulge...
Someone once told me when I was a young pup, "Son, There ain't no future in getting old." Huh? Unbeknownst to me at that time, this dude was not speaking with a forked tounge.
Things I used to do even a few years ago are getting to be difficult if not darn near impossible. Not to mention things I used to fit in well, are j-u-ust a little tight.
Let's face it, aging is a part of the natural process. How we age is in our genetic code. Men age differently than women. The female metabolism, peaks much earlier than for the male. Women peak between 15 - 22 on average, men 25-28. From that point on, our metabolism slows down an average of 1% a year until...
However, most Americans continue to eat the same amount of garbage we did when we were in or peak years. No can do. To fight the Battle of the Bulge, we need to eat 1% x # of years from peak less, exercise 1% more every year or a combination of both. Sadly, most Americans live a sedentary lifestyle. The years of overeating and lack of exercise soon takes its toll, and our once slim bods begins to resemble a semi-deflated beach ball.
Today, I challenge all you stuffed taters to take it off, take it all off in the rain. Join Roger Mucci's group Take it off in the Rain. You'll be glad you did...

It's way too early for me to figure out that mathematical equation! But I get the point! lol

I love that group! I just found it a few weeks ago and I'm glad I did. Heck of a pic by the way :)
Michael, you make me laugh!! When I'm tempting to overeat, I'm going to call to mind your stuffed car and semi-deflated beach ball!! Wishing you a fantastic day!
Well said Mike..love the photo and the "stuffed taters" comment....I need to try and eat less...I am one of those that still eats what I did 10 years ago and it is starting to add up! Thank goodness I work out daily, that helps!

Time for some new wheels.
Truly inspirational and a little revolting lol
Enjoy the day
That picture is way too funny! I would say over the last 6 months I'm noticing more flesh, lol. And I thought door knocking was supposed to help that. :)
Forget the Mini Cooper . . . we're getting ready for the Mini Michael. Congrats on being a fantastic Loser!
Youchers! That picture almost hurts. I joined that group awhile back and haven't been there much. That's changing this week. :) I'm on a role and down 6 pounds.
I just joined...Thanks Michael...BTW, it's about 4:45AM here and I'm about to head out for my daily walk...Enjoy the day.
A timely post, Michael. I've been working too much and was feeling out of my mind today. So I shut down all things electronic and dug in the mud for a while. It took about an hour before I started to feel cheerful again. I don't know how people live without exercise - I go crazy if I sit for too long.
I'm trying to not be a stuffed tater any longer but ugh....it is so difficult. Glad I joined the group though!
Don't you know it...its almost ironic how when a woman hits a certain age her body shows it all over. It does take twice the discipline, and I'm up for it! I wont stop until my under arms stop waving, and my butts lifted! LOL
Lets all keep going for it, "Taking it off in the Rain" !!! And next year lets put out our afters calender, I'll be the one with an umbrella and nothing else. LOL I wish.
Thanks for the wake up call...love your photo but it is a bit alarming!!!
I'm off to go exersize NOW before I get stuck in the doorway!!!!!!
OK, that picture is so wrong on so many levels, I just don't even know where to start! You're getting really good at this Photoshop thing though Michael!
Thanks for the motivation Michael. I have dramatically changed my diet and what a difference it has made. I lost 9 pounds in 5 weeks!
