Don't discriminate!!! Why the hate???

By
Real Estate Agent with Southwest Realty Advisors LLC 0515710

Just had a comment from a fellow member is another state.  The basis of his comment was to ridicule me for holding a license in Nevada.  Apparently this makes me lazy among other things.

Excerts from the post are as follows.

All I know is I keep hearing most agents within Nevada are extremely lazy and based on what I understand here it would seem to fit.

Another great comment-  Once again the theory of agents in Nevada has been proven......please try to make it up in the next posts.  I was unaware that there was a theory about Nevada agents???

I hold a license in both Texas and Nevada.  I WOULD NEVER generalize a group of professionals in such an unprofessional way.  I think this is a sad message to send.  If you have a difference of opinion please post it yet don't insult a group of professionals in any region.  This is just rude not to mention stupid.  Agents from Las Vegas do have the power to refer to this particular member yet I doubt any who read his post will be calling him anytime soon.  I hope I made up for my "Nevada status" in this new great post.

Lets keep it professional and not personal.  Show some love no matter where you are from.  I LOVE Texas and Nevada.  Both my markets differ in many ways.  I know bad and good agents exist in both states.  I hope we can focus on the good as a forum community.  Not so much of the hate.

Have a productive week.

Thanks David.  I was really shocked.  I have tough skin so it made me chuckle but shocked the crude out of me.  What if other Nevada agents read this jerks thoughts??? Well I could not resist my stupidity.  I personally emailed him and thanked him for the inspiration regarding this post.  How can someone be such a jerk.  I should remove his thoughtless remarks yet I suppose he is entitled to his opinion.

I feel your pain with the joke.  I was trying to think of something funny as well.

In his defensive (dare I care) I will say Las Vegas had a flood of young, new agents.  They had a boom so every cab driver, bus boy, and bartender was grabbing a license.  That caused some confusion b/c they were not in the profession for the right reasons.  I have been in the real estate business all my life.  My husband and I build homes.  My family has been in contracting since I was born.  His as well.  We were drawn to the sales side.  Much like it ran in our veins.  We enjoy having our websites, we enjoy the profession and have come full circle.  Some people IN ANY STATE often get into real estate for all the wrong reasons.  I saw a ton of this in Vegas.  I saw some AWESOME agents in Vegas.  Real hard marketing and good work.  I do blame the state a bit for note mandating more disclosures when writing a contract.  They are coming full circle. The market is changing and some the agents are getting out of a field they never really cared to be in.  They found out how expensive this business really is.  Not so easy to just grab a license and get rich.  Some of them made a good run at it during the areas big boom.

In Texas we have roughly 20 to 30 page contracts.  Full of disclosures, addendums, and seller- broker, buyer-broker agreements.  The first listing I had in Vegas was less then 10 pages.  You could argue that they just keep it more simple then us Texas folks yet I saw some room for confusion.

Thanks for your comment
