What Would You Do If I Sang Out Of Tune (Pool Inspections)

I get by with a little help form my friends.  In Franklin TN we have nearly 9 months of pool weather yet we have very few private pools.

So having sold my listing with a pool we are awaiting the pool inspection part of the home inspection.  Since we have so few pools aside from neighborhood pools, this doesn't come up often.

The sellers have already closed the pool and winterized it, including lowering the pool level and antifreeze in the pump and lines.  The pool inspector is asking them to reopen and fill the pool so he can test the pump and complete his inspection sometime next week.

Is this something the seller should be paying for or should this be included in the buyer's inspection cost?

What part of this is reasonable to ask my sellers to pay for, if any at all?

And yes the title has nothing to do with the post, but it got you here, Thanks in advance.

Mike: I'd try to negotiate that they pay the cost rewinterization. It's common up here when inspecting plumbing on foreclosed homes that have been winterized.

No the sellers should not be paying. They need to sign a disclosure statement, (we have one just for pools) that say the sellers the pool was working fine when it was professionally closed.

If the buyers want this house, they need to pay to have it re-opened.

Hey this is my opinion.

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

Thanks for your answers Matt and Missy, it is a great help to me.  I suspected as much but sometimes conventions fly in the face of logic.
