Foreclosures in Poinciana Florida Illustrated

What a sobering post...with that much saturation it will take years (if ever) for Poinciana and the surrounding communities to recover, not to mention the families/lives devastated by losing their homes. 

I agree with Anita, what a wake up call. So, if I am to understand your post the homes being shown are in pre-foreclosure mode? It would be interesting to see how many are already foreclosed on.

In November, we had over 300 foreclosure properties advertised ... a new record. There are currently 265 that are going to the steps. We are a LONG way from recovery!

BB - It seems like your area has been hit really hard. In the North Florida the communities that were built during the housing boom have been hit the hardest with foreclosures.

Bryant, those statistics are pretty amazing.  There are some similarities in Saint Lucie County, but nothing like this in Martin County.  We never had the building craze (or only minimal new developments) of the early 2000's.

BB, What a sobering picture that makes your point quite graphically...like a plague! 

The definition of a plague is a term applied to a disease that spreads easily and, without treatment, can be fatal. Sounds a lot lot like foreclosure in Poinciana.

What a difference actually "seeing" the  numbers makes.  Send this to the powers that be in Washington. Maybe it will wake them up to the true mess we're in. Thanks for the eye opener.

Poor Poinciana. It definitely is not fairing well in this economic crisis. That being said, it is so important to contact a qualified professional like you when considering buying and selling in this turbulent market.

Thanks for the google foreclosure mapping. Going to look into that.

BB - not a pretty picture at all - and just down the street from you, Lakeland's distressed sales are at around 60% of all sales.

Wow, that is a lot of foreclosures!  I will have to look at that website, never heard of it.  Important to be good at short sales in your area!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. An aerial photo is definately more effective. Thanks for giving us a very candid look at your world Bryant, and thanks for the info on the boingboing and google maps.

Have been told one out of four sales in the nation are FSSR infected. (Foreclosure, short sale, repossession) But lucky to live in Maine where we are 46th for FSSR. One percent of our sales not hard to take but your area is a horse or house of a different color.
