Dinosaurs Alive! Opens Today at Kings Island

Today's the day!  Just a little more time until the gates open this morning at Kings Island and the Grand Opening of the Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit!

Dinosaurs Alive! will be the world's largest animatronic display of life size dinosaurs!

Admission is $5 with park admission, and includes about 60 dinosaurs with the entrance located next to The Vortex roller coaster (one of my personal favorites!).  After Tuesday night's fire, they're short a Ruyang Yellow River model, their largest dinosaur!  Talk about having a RED HOT exhibit!

With options including a 3D movie, and a kids' dig area (for dinosaur bones), this walk through the woods will give you a feel for what these big dinos were like.

Wow, what fun.  I bet the kids of all ages are going to love that.  Can you just imagine the work that went into each of those?

Juli, I think the place will get swarmed with kids, and at $5/person extra, nominal extra charge, but you can bet they'll hit break even in no time on their investment!  Wonder how they'll hold up through the winter snows?

As a kid I was into dinosaurs. My favorite book was The Shy Stegosarous of Cricket Creek. And they still work for kids today.

My kids were SO into dinosaurs and this place looks like just the place for kids of all ages!  I'm amazed at how real they look and sound; I'm sure this will be a big hit at Kings Island!

Debe, I suspect so, although the thunderstorms here today probably aren't helping their gate for the day!

Bliz ~ we had a Walking with the Dinosaurs come through Denver about a year ago.  It was fantastic.  It went through the time line of their distinction.  It was so cool!

Kids are going to love this and it won't empty the pocketbook either.  Kings Island is going to be very busy this weekend.

Craig, I suspect there will be a lot of "big kids" who will love this too!  It's a permanent exhibit, and they plan to add past the existing 60 dinosaurs.

When my Grandson was small (he's 14 now and 6'2") he could name every Dinosaur, tell you their traits -- he would have absolutely loved this . . . where does the time go?  What a wonderful way to spend precious hours with the young ones.

Tish, The storms today dampened turnout, the parking lot was rather empty around 5 pm.  That said, schools finish letting out soon, so suspect after this long weekend turnout will rapidly increase!
