Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Fort Lauderdale Beach

When all there is to read are local posts...write a blog. So here goes SHORT SALES!  Short Sales are a horrid word to many Real Estate agents, WHY?  The unknown or lack of experience therein to know exactly how to write the contract to suit the bank, what addendums to use and sometimes the unknown.

That being said, how many of you are fearful when you have a listing that goes to short sale, or a referral from a friend, previous buyer, or a new customer?

FEAR NOT!  Activerain has a great site to learn about how to process Short Sales!  It is Activerain University.  There is a plethora of information available on AR University.  If you don't find what you are looking for there, you can type in the "search" bar "short sales" and many articles (blogs) are available to help you.

If you need to learn more or if you need help and can't find it...post your question here and I will find the answer for you.

If you are not an agent, you can still ask. I will find an agent for you in your home town that can guide you through the process.  Just make sure you leave your name and town/city and state.

From the CB short sale "Queen"...

Karen, I wish more listing agents would get on the rain and learn more about short sales before putting them on the market.

Karen,

It is a rare Realtor who reaches out to the public to talk about short sales and then in a positive way. ActiveRain is beyond an incredible resource and I think this post demonstrates you are too.

Marchel,

I do too.  So many agents are so anxious to get listings that they take some that they really don't know how to handle.  One can only hope they have mentors or brokers in their offices for guidance.

Karen --- thank you for this post, Your Majesty.  :)   You know beyond finding information about short sales, you bring up a great point about the "search" function in Active Rain.   There is so much information to be found if only one does a little searching.

Michael,

You crack me up...The situation is as such.  I use an attorney who is also my Title Company to do my short sales.  She is Fabulous.  Banks will pay an attorney their fee to do the short sale.  While I have done quite a few on my own, now that I know she can do them and she will get paid, it's worth every cent she earns to do the short sale for me.  If benefits the seller and buyer both.

There is a ton of information here to use and learn by....after almost 3.5 years here.  I'm a vet! LOL

Added you as an associate...   :-)
