Well here I am a lowly humble real estate agent making his way through life when all of a sudden I write a book called ""Pearls for the Soul" a collection of over 800 positive and uplifting sayings and it takes off. So, I end up using Borders to promote the book and they end up using me
It is not a personal thing either. I enjoyed every moment I was in the different Borders stores. The people interaction was priceless. The memories will be for life. I still visit the Borders stores, but only the ones that are not being liquidated. However, it still remains a mystery to me whether my publisher will get paid or not
Currently, she is in talks with the store managers who are very helpful and concerned. My book sales while impressive from my point of view wouldn't supply tinder for the big boys camp fire. Some of those publishers are owed tens of millions of dollars.
Because they wouldn't negotiate with Borders, they inadvertently pressured them into a bankruptcy situation. Now, the Court will have the final say so on who gets paid and who doesn't and for how much. Perhaps I should send the trustee a complimentary copy of "Pearls for the Soul" to cheer him up.
Now I know they want to remain open, so some sort of deal will be reached. But there will be losses along the way. I must tell you that unless you are Stephen King, or some other famous author, you will have to live off rice and beans with no meat if you are writing for a living. I get meat because of my real estate activities.
"Pearls for the Soul" is still a bargain no matter what happens, "Pearls for the Soul" a collection of over 800 positive and uplifting sayings needs to be read by Borders corporate. Perhaps they will cut my publisher a check after that....
