Broward County "Water Matters" Day
Broward County "Water Matters" Day
Generally; water represents purity, and a new beginning. In a functioning and stable community; water is something that most people seldom think about since it's automatically there when we turn the tap on.
In South Florida we're naturally surrounded by water; it's what we're known for. We fish, swim, and water our tropical lush lawns on a regular basis. Being the foundation for Broward County's most valued natural resources - the Everglades and Atlantic coastal ecosystems we need to take heed and be aware of the importance of water in our lives. It's critical that we use only what we need, and not become wasteful.
How could something so simple, be so important that a community would dedicate an entire day to it's existance? In everyday life; water is our most valuable resource. We must not become lax in our efforts to preserve this simple and pure entity. The consequences are crucial if we don't take care of it; one day we just may turn the tap on; only to realize that the water we once took for granted is no longer readily available.
Broward County "Water Matters" Day
Due to a growing population; water supplies are stressed everyday by meeting the needs of the community. By 2015, it's estimated that over two million people will live in Broward County. As a result; water preservation is more important than ever.
