PAY IT FORWARD - BY ACCIDENT
PAY IT FORWARD - BY ACCIDENT. I really enjoy reading the Pay It Forward blogs and hope at some time in the future I will be able to PAY IT FORWARD. Turns out I may have participate in it without realizing it.
Here's what happened. If you read my first blog (and who didn't? Actually, very few read it. After all it was my first. What did I expect?) Where was I? Oh right, if you read my first blog you may have noticed that my comments indicated that I was unable to embed my video. Actually, I didn't even know that I was trying to "embed" my video. I just wanted that screen with the arrow on it to come up. I re-read my notes from Steven Graham's class on videos, but my notes were sketchy. Next I enlisted the help of a friend. We were able to insert the URL for my videos but not the video itself.
In the meantime, I decided to participate in the Press Release Challenge. I interviewed Karen Kruschka about the volunteer work she does reading to hearing impaired kids in Virginia. She was a pleasure to interview. As we talked, I told her the problem I had with my video. She in turned offered her husband, Art, to help me embed my video.
Art got on the phone with me and patiently explained how I could embed my video. He kindly went over my YouTube site with me taking me through the different screens until I found the right one that showed where I could pick up the "embed" code. It was a lenghtier process than Art thought it would be. I was finally able to embed three videos into my first blog with Art's help. Success for me and a chance for him to enjoy the rest of his day in peace.
Fast forward to yesterday when I took another ActiveRain University class from Steven Graham. After class, I emailed Steven asking for his notes for the class. In my email, I mentioned that I had finally learned to embed my videos and that Art Kruschka was the person who helped me. Well, Steven must have realized the pain and suffering Art went through, so he decided to reward him with 2000 points. WOW. I am so happy and gratified that Steven listen to me and for Art who truly deserved the reward.
I love ActiveRain for all the helpful and patient people who are willing to help a newbie like me. Art did PAY IT FORWARD.
