“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” - Dr Wayne Dyer

One way to keep motivated, persistent, and keep your mojo going as you show properties and/or hold open house is stay OPTIMISTIC! A good trick is through positive affirmations.

Even if you write and repeat them, affirmations can still be just words lost in the sea. You must use them correctly, continuously and with conviction. You can also improve the success of your positive affirmations using additional steps. There are activities you can complete to prepare you physically and emotionally for receiving all of your good fortunes.

Here are some additional actions to further support your successful use of affirmations.

1.Use mental visions. Turn your affirmations into mental visions. As you repeat the words of your affirmation, see yourself challenged in this new experience. Feel the pleasure, the pride, the joy, and all of the feelings that are created as you imagine yourself in this scene. Imagine what it felt like when you closed your "first" sales. How proud and good did you feel? Hold that thought in the forefront of you mind and know that the sale is just around the bend!

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”
- Helen Keller

2.Reduce resistance or negative beliefs.
If your affirmations bring up feelings of fear, doubt, guilt, shame, disappointment or hopelessness, take the time to process these feelings. Sorting these feelings out and releasing them allow you to prepare the fertile ground that will improve your affirmations and bring you results. Resistance or limiting beliefs are the result of past experiences that you have gone through. Take a minute for yourself before you pick up your client or open the doors for the open house. Meditate for 30 seconds and take a deep full breath. Remind yourself of your mental vision. Then say "No matter what happens, I will succeed. If the sale happens today it will happen, if it doesn't it wasn't meant to be. I trust in the (universe, god, buddha , whatever you believe in)" Sometime you just have to remind yourself that you cannot control everything; however, you have control of your reaction to the world.

3.Write down your thoughts and experiences. Accompany your use of affirmations with daily follow-up. Writing your words allows you to release thoughts, feelings and impressions that are important to acknowledge and process. You can also use your journal as a victory log, a place to record activities you have completed or synchronistic experiences that you have experienced.

4.Take action. Back up your affirmations with action. In fact, some people believe the most important part of affirmations is preparing you to take action. As you go along with the positive energy, gain clarity on what you want, improve your believability, eliminate your resistance, you will be able to take action that is aligned with your new energy and wisdom.

As you add these steps to your routine, you can begin to feel the change immediately. You will feel better about yourself and your circumstances. These feelings will let you know that you are on the right path.

Try to apply these simple techniques as you show property and host open house. Maybe you might meet a new prospect, get a listing, or even make a sale!

I hope this blog helps keep my motivated!

Reuben, First of all Dr. Dyer is an incredible thinker/philosopher and his writings have more then once given me an "AHA" moment. Value is one of the most underappreciated words in our world....because things only matter when we assign value to them. The higher the value, the more they mean to us. If we are able to assign little or no value to the things that have the ability to get us down, we stay up.

Great post. Love it.
