Have you heard? It's been raining here on the Peninsula lately -- lots of rain
Today the skies are blue, the sun benignly warm, and the hills a gorgeous green. But as recently as yesterday we had rain, day after day of rain, which is good for the snowpack in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and our water source, but it does wreak havoc on our trails. Mud and downed trees can be formidable obstacles!
But a little mud can't keep us inside--our fabulous parks and open spaces is one the drawing cards of this area. We like to be outside, 12 months of the year. Sunday's hike at nearby Pulgas Open Space Preserve was, well, muddy! But also glorious, with wildflowers blooming in profusion. Dogs were frolicking happily, photographers busy snapping pictures, hikers getting their exercise, and trail runners getting even more exercise pulling up the hills.
