Windseeker Takes To the Skies Today at Kings Island!

You've been watching that TALL blue tower going up at Kings Island since March.  You've seen the TV reports, you've heard it was coming!  You've seen the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit, and Windseeker is the other big 2011 launch.  Costing $5 million to make, it's another serious capital investment in Kings Island.

Well TODAY is your day you thrill seekers!  Windseeker goes live today!  301 foot tall, so 30 stories above the ground!  Riders swing in pairs, up to 30 mph, going out up to 45 degrees, a total of 64 riders per ride.

See the video below for the similar ride at Cedar Point!

Alan, I think it's all about the height.  30 stories is a lot of height!  The concept isn't that much different from so many carnival rides I rode as a kid, but 30 stories??? Uh, yeah....

Cindy, LOL!  I got that! :)

Judy, I think some of those lights with the spirals might make even the ground folks dizzy!

Oh how fun is that? I haven't been to an amusement park for ages! My favorite time was back in the 60's and I worked with my Dad. The location we were going to wasn't ready and instead we spent the day at Pacific Ocean Park in Pico Rivera California. We rode the roller coaster 8 times in a row without getting off. That was the best! P.O.P. is long gone now and so is my Dad. I've moved half the country away from California, but the memory just came back full force. Thanks for that!

Evelyn, It's been a few years since I've actually been inside Kings Island.  I think the last amusement park is we did Disneyworld and Universal Studios when the RE/MAX convention was held in Orlando...maybe five or 6 years ago?  Have lost track!  Have always enjoyed them, just rarely go!  Glad to bring back some good memories for you!

Good morning, BLiz. Oh what a fun looking ride. I really had a blast on the rides in Orlando...

Good Morning, Bliz. I am afraid I would have to pass on the Windseeker ride. It looks safe enough from the ground, but the thought of being up 30 stories high and going 30 mph is a little to much for me at my age.

I am sure there are a lot you younger Thrill Seekers out there who would definitely enjoy this new ride.

Michael, They've got some good ones in Orlando!

Jerry, Not much different than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, right?? :)

I'm getting sicck just thinking about it.  I have never done well with carnival rides, turbulent planes or cars where I am not driving.  Someone else can have my spot in line.

Um, no way!  I don't like heights or going in circles so this combines 2 of my least favorite things.  I bet the lines will be long though...plenty of thrillseekers out there.

Anita, The good news is if the lines are long for THIS ride, the lines must be shorter elsewhere for the rides we DO want to get on! :)

BLiz, I guess to each his own but I'm not a big fan of high places as a result I served on a submarine…

Craig, I'm right there with you.  The older I get, the less those heights appeal to me.

Roy, It certainly is, and Yes, life is good :)

Paul, Same height, just the opposite direction :)
