Fun Time at the 2011 Del Mar Races in Del Mar CA

Racing at the Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar CA It's almost post time at the Del Mar Racetrack, "where the turf meets the surf" in Del Mar, California.

The famed Del Mar Racing season will be opening Friday July 20, 2011 at the Del Mar Fair Grounds and Race Track with Opening Day (40,000+ expected), the Hats Contest (with prizes in several categories), lots of celebs, and of course a few horses.

The Del Mar Racing Season will run from July 20 through September 7, 2 days past Labor Day, with racing from Wednesdays through Sundays.

You can order tickets on-line, with all kinds of options - box seats, reserved seats, trackside dining, and more.

Jeff, I use to go to the horse races in Maryland, and in Charles Town, WVand always had a great time. I remember the first time I went to a race I won $120.

I do believe I have been to Del Mar. My family was very into horse-racing, and my Dad used to own quite a few in the U.K. These courses are dying. Glad to see Del Mar is still going strong.

A buddy (my best man actually) and I used to go to Del Mar all the time many years ago. Made 5 Opening Days in a row and a few times each week. Had lots of free time and hit a few Pick 6 to keep us going back - beer was a lot cheaper too. Saw Shoemaker, Pincay and quite few other great jockeys. Bet the gray horse in the 7th for me.
