Why I Chose Real Estate! - The Perfect Choice
My real estate career may have started only six short years ago but it was a long time coming for me and the Perfect Choice! From my temperament to the things I enjoy in life, signs started pointing in the real estate direction in my early 30's. In looking back though, I think I was always destined for sales.
I love people and for the most part am a pretty happy person. At the same time, I don't give up easy and am quite competitive - something that surprises a lot of people once they get to know me, including my husband! I am quite the fighter when I need to be.

Even though I have that competitive nature, I am also very protective and nurturing. This is a trait that really comes out with my first time home buyers! As a student in school I was very business oriented and even earned the Bank of America Business Award my senior year. I think that's where my love of technology comes in as well - not that there was much technology when I was young but it all connects eventually!

When I finished college, I never stopped taking classes. I took classes on everything from cake decorating to web page design. That love of learning was another sign real estate was the perfect choice for me! With the constant change in the real estate world, I am still learning as much as I possible can so I can stay on top of it. When our kids were young, I was a stay at home mom but kept on learning. Many of the classes I took were to promote job options for when I would eventually go back to work. Along the way, I took interior design classes, appraisal classes, computer classes, horticulture classes, and real estate classes. I thoroughly enjoyed them all!
In 2002, my kids no longer needed me at home and it was time for me to get back into the earning world. It was scary at first, but I eased in with a job managing the office for a friend of mine who had an interior design and flooring shop. Finally in the summer of 2003, it hit me - being a real estate agent would let me combine all of the areas that interested me! I studied for my license all that fall and got my license the following spring. I'm not sure it would have been as good a choice for me earlier in my life when my kids needed me more, as it is very time consuming but Why I Chose Real Estate was very clear at that time in my life and it has been the perfect choice!
