Invested in real estate but do your due diligence!

What's a good real estate investment? How do you know if this investment is right for you?

Due diligence is how you will know: It's very important to understand and closely inspect all of the investments information. Market data is very important as it relates to the investment, check out the market rents for similar properties, investigate and see if the area is in high demand of renters or not, and details such as vacancy factor and actual current income.

So don't forget invest in real estate but do your due diligence!

Amen to that!  I am taking classes to obtain my GRI.  One class is on investment properties and was invaluable!  I recommend it for any Realtor wanting to invest for themselves or work with investors!

Yes, one needs to not only do their due diligence, but actually have a plan in mind before they step into the real estate investing mode.  Isn't that one of the reasons we are in this current housing mess?  I saw many a buyers back in 2005 who were buying investment properties because everyone else was doing it.  They were like sheep......just needed to be led.

Kym-I agree with you 100% thanks for the great comments- Jon

Stephen- I agree about having a plan with your investment, also maintaining it. New investors were not the problem for the current housing situation, I think there are much bigger issues that caused the downward fall, just my opinion. Thanks for your comment and have a great day – Jon
