Random Thoughts for September - Notes and Numbers
As the month is drawing to a close, I'm looking through my notes - those on paper and those that only exist in my mind - just in an effort to clean up before October rolls around.
Speaking of notes, why is it that the best ideas come to you at night, you know just before going to sleep? There you are laying in bed, just about to wander off to dreamland, and there it is: an ingenious idea, great solution to a problem, or maybe just a great topic to blog about.
There you are, thinking to yourself, you should really be writing this down but are too tired to turn on the light. So instead, you are desperately trying to hold onto this thought so you will remember, only to discover the next morning that you have simply not the slightest idea what that earthshaking revelation was that came upon you the night before.
I've also been getting some notes by way of email. Most of these I ignore because they are SPAM! Do these people really think anyone would open their spam messages? I even got one that announced itself in the subject line as "Spam"! Weird is the word.
In a way, I'm glad September is over soon. I've had a difficult transaction that just would not close. It was my listing and seller wanted me to put up a "Sold" sign which I did not. However, a few days before the expected closing date, I relented and put up a "pending" sign. The moment that happened, the extensions started! Most of them for reasons totally incomprehensible to anyone. No surprise here that real estate is in the top 10 most stressful professions!
There was some fun stuff, too! To all of you who are participating in the "30 Days of September Localism/Posting Challenge" - congratulations for making it this far, just a few more days to go.
Ever since hitting a "Palindrome" with my point numbers, I've been having fun with watching the numbers for other unusual ones. I guess I've been sort of collecting them. I ended up with two more palindromes and even had one with all identical digits, in German that would be called a "Schnapszahl" - a Schnapps number!
Now how did they come up with that? Well, if during certain games that require score keeping with several players, one of them gets a "Schnapszahl", they would have to buy a round of "schnapps" for everyone! That was easy!
And last but not least, my favorite quote "du Jour":
My mind's made up - don't confuse me with the facts!
