First class postage will increase by 1 cent on January 22, 2012!

If you do a lot of mailing or just want to save your pennies this year, make sure to buy "forever" stamps before this date.

"Forever" stamps are first class stamps that do not have the amount of postage printed on them, they will be valid regardless of the actual postage due.

Postage Stamp Increase - January 22, 2012

Effective Sunday, January 22, 2012 mailing a first class envelope will cost you an extra penny going from .44 to .45.      Here is the a chart from the United States Postal Service showing the rate changes.

It will be necessary to have a few one cent stamps on hand for mailings.     Post cards and mailings to Canada and Mexico increased a bit more.

Hi Silvia - Our postage rates in Canada went up today (January 16, 2012). Your rates are considerably less expensive than ours.

Price hikes, can't get away from them Silvia. We have been using forever stamps up here in Canada for awhile now and as Marc said we just had our what seems to be annual increase.

Fred, I hear you. My post office has one of those automated postage stations, kind of convenient actually because you can use them after hours and don't have to stand in line.
