If Chef Ramsay Was A REALTOR, Real Estate Designated Broker Running The Office Waving A Wooden Spoon.

Watched a couple episodes of Chef Gordon Ramsay in action as he puts on the kitchen apron, races around a dining establishment that is teetering, close to locking its doors for good.

Say what you want but outspoken, with lots of passion and maybe lacking some people skills gets to the heart of the problem of a restaurant pretty quickly.

Short and not always so sweet complete.

In my job as a Maine real estate broker, the older I get the more I respect outspoken, don't candy coat it people.

You quickly know what is wrong, what needs fixing, addressed chop chop, pronto to make them happy again.

Nothing wishy washy or beating around the bush or wondering when you meet someone with smoke pouring out of their ears and expletives in all the excitement.

Real estate is an emotional experience.

Matters not if you are the buyer, seller or in between right?

Like an ER where seconds count, restaurants which have the highest failure rate of businesses banks look to finance, the dining experience success is a million little things.

Consistently performed with efficiency, style, grace. And providing enough to eat so the patron does not leave carrying the carbon copy of a very large bill.

But seriously toying with hitting the Piggly Wiggly or Burgers R US on the way home for a little snack, a happy meal.

Some folks in real estate that are light blue leisure suit comfortable, still marketing property listings like back in the day of mirrored disco revolving balls could be humming "That's The Way I Like It, Ah Huh Ah Huh".

And if someone wearing a white chef's smock with a blue and gold REALTOR "R" cruised in to the establishment, raised eyebrows and open mouths could happen as the tightening up process begins.

Had one lady Active Rain member not so pleased with the "Do You Have What It Takes To Wear The REALTOR "R" blog post a while back. Comparing the report to 5AM military boot camp inspection and realizing some in the real estate audience of professionals should not be there seemed offensive.

Candor, being candid in real estate? Do you dare to speak up, share with the others in the real estate office maine real estate broker andrew mooers ice cream conewhat you deem is slack, a wrinkle needing removal or tightening up in the day to day operations?

If you don't, or can not speak up, tension, inner stress and depression can put you in one big blue mood. Change is not something folks like to tackle and often are blind to the problem, the elephant in the room.

Chef Ramsay gets some kind of excited.

Bleeps here and there in the audio tract from his dialogue and the others in the getting way way too hot kitchen. The owners, staff that does not like being under the sizzling red warming spotlight.

But his approach like a radio program director that was tough but the best one I ever had. With an on air label of  "Humble But None The Less Mighty John Marshall".

It's not cocky if you can deliver, handle the stress and tackle it with a can do approach that is new, fresh and provides a quality experience.

And in the case of Chef Gordon Ramsay within a 22 minutes, three commercial breaks program.

Being a little red hen with a slightly cut to the chase, don't mince with words, a tad all knowing attitude. But at the end of the show, he's right and the approach to fix the problem is tried and tested as the chef surveys the local turf. And sees what the area needs for an eatery and then dissects the inner workings of the establishment to fine tune what is wrong inside the sticks and bricks.

Would you like REALTOR Gordon Ramsey to tour your facility and "cook up" a laundry list of improvements delivered with a "in your face", a tad snarky cut and dry approach?

Sometimes in real estate, along life's twists and turns you and I need a between the eyes, painfully honest and the way it is little talking to, assessment.

Debb ... Time is money and expectations can not be met if you can not size up the situation, know what needs doing to help provide the service we are famous for. Or should be. Change is hard for many.

Ha ha, Well I do like to tell it like it is and hear it like it is...but I'm not thinking Chef Ramsey would make it in the Real Estate business.  I do like him though!!!

John ... Change, evolution, efficient but still fun real estate day to day.. that's the key.

Cindy ... They always kiss an make up by the end of the show. Has you wondering though how the restaurant is going to work it all out with just a weeks visit from the top chef. Change starts by seeing it will help, by wanting, needing to do something because you are going to the rock bottom. Desperation helps make the transformation with sink or swim approach.

Hi Andrew - Chef Ramsey has created (and in some cases modified) many of my views of restaurant kitchen and dining room operations due to his shows.

Marc ... The food that is bad, the so so hustle and pride in the kitchen is missing in many of the establishments. That's why the guy with the wooden spoon is brought in to whip them in to shape. Or try to.

Running with....knives, scissors....gotta cut to the chase...tell the truth for as unpleasant as it may be...and if it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the ....seller, buyer, investor,...as long as it is the truth....the aftertaste is a part of what's on the menu.
