This little guy....sweet baby face is 26 years old today.
I love this picture, it was the day I really started living life. The day I truly fell in love. At 7:30am on February 16, 1986 I realized that nothing I had ever done before mattered at all; Not where I'd been, nor who I'd been with, nor what I owned, nor anything at all.
I became a mommy that day!
Since then, I've added 4 other sweet-loves to my life and each one has been as wonderful. Yet there is something magical in the first time you feel that love....all those years ago today.
My little peanut and I were a team from day one. We shared so much....sang songs, played dress-up, and played hooky. One of my favorite things to do was to pretend to be grumpy and busy and then head to Disneyland with him for the day instead of school and work.
As he's grown...we've laughed, loved, screamed, and cried. The one constant was that we always knew that we were there for each other. He knew that he could LEAVE his mom and grow into the man he was to become. That I would be here...but that he really didn't need me.
Eventually, this little face found the love of his life (or so he thinks....no children yet, lol....they still have this joy to come.). Truly gained another daughter...lucky me!! So even though she was the one to kiss him Happy Birthday....that's the way it should be.
