A good salesperson tends to like others and enjoys pleasing people.
You will have a spectacular career if you can show your prospects and clients that you truly like them and appreciate them. We all prefer to buy from nice, friendly people rather than grouchy ones with a miserable attitudes.
Whenever possible, avoid discussions, debates and argument. Always let the prospective client tell you how he feels. You do not have to have the same opinion, but what does that matter – if you make the sale.
Some people are nice and gentle; others aggressive and far from polite. Whatever the client is like the professional must remain cool, polite and patient if results are to be obtained.
If you smile and react pleasantly, communication will be established and defenses will be pulled down. Ill-humored, moody people do usually come around when they see a smiling face. Just like a yawn, a smile is contagious.
Remember that first impressions are usually lasting ones and that success or failure depends on you alone.
"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you will help them become what they are capable of becoming."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
