"I don't think there is anything I can do for you."

I think I may have gotten one of the funniest sales calls of my real estate career yesterday.  A representative from a national web-based lead promoting company called to solicit my business.  The salesman was very polite and actually was smart enough to not insult me in the first couple minutes.  That was a plus.

He told me who he was and what company he represented, and then he proceeded to ask me if I did anything online.  Oh, that was a mistake.  I started with my website, and then I got into blogging and explaining how I use my blog to generate business.

I described the new WordPress blog I'm just getting launch and the purpose of it.  I detailed the components.  Then I gave him the percentages of my business that come directly from the Internet, and how it has changed my business completely.

After I had finished explaining my web-strategy, he said, "That was my sales spiel.  I don' think there is anything I can do for you."  Really?  Wow, I was impressed that he was so impressed that he didn't even try to sell me anything. 

Folks, if you're not investing in a good website, please do.  If you're not blogging for business, you're short changing yourself.  If you haven't developed a web-strategy for today and the future, you're putting yourself behind those who are.  I'm convinced that with the growing number of people in their 20s through 40s are shifting the way real estate is marketed and sold.  I hope you'll join me in this great adventure and see the results in your business.
