Eliminating Inefficiencies in your Real Estate Business

Extra ExtraFor March's sponsored contest, our Friends at DocuSign are encouraging you to take a look at your business and figure out what kind of inefficiencies are wasting your time and resources, and then come up with a plan to eliminate them.

DocuSign's product is designed to eliminate the inefficiencies associated with getting documents signed during your transaction. If you aren't using electronic signatures by now, this would be a great place to start getting more efficient in your business.

Are there other places you are less than totally efficient? Of course there are. Maybe it's how you go about collecting feedback on showings. Do you spend a ton of time following up with paperwork where maybe you could be using a transaction coordinator to free up your time for income producing activities? Could you get better at eliminating homes from your client's home tours because you absolutely know they wouldn't be interested in the home but you don't know how to get them to drop it from the tour?

Did you used to stink at converting leads and you figured out a great way to make yourself more accountable and more efficient in how you follow up? We'd love if you would share it!

Every day we do something in our job that we could do better. Every day we do something manually that we could probably automate to be more efficient. Every day we go through the motions with something in our business even though there may be technology available that would make that process less time and resource intensive. Unless we make a conscious effort to step back and assess what we are doing, it's very likely we don't even know how much time, or how many resources, we are wasting.

This month DocuSign wants you to take an honest look at your business and share with your peers something you could be more efficent with...........or share some inefficiciency that you have already eliminated from your business that made a big difference.

The Contest:

Write a blog post, minimum of 200 words, that details some current or past inefficiency in your business. Once you have explained the inefficiency, tell us what you plan on doing, or what you did, to become more efficient in that area of your business.

When you have completed your blog post:

  1. Place a link to your post in the comment section of this blog post. Your post will be considered 'submitted' based on when you submit the link to your post in a comment on this post.

  2. Include a link somewhere in your blog post back to this post. The reason we ask you to do this is so that we can get as many people involved in sharing great ideas as possible.

  3. Let DocuSign know about your post on Twitter by tweeting them a link to your post @docusign (if you're not a Twitter user, it's not required you do this. If you are a twitter user, it's still not required but DocuSign would love to hear about your post)
  4. Become a fan of the DocuSign page on Facebook and leave a link to your post on their Facebook page (this one is optional.....Facebook's terms of service dictate that we can't force you to do this to qualify for the contest)

Posts submited by 11:59pm Pacific Time on March 11th will be awarded 2000 points. Posts submitted between March 12th and 11:59pm Pacific Time on March 23rd will be given 1250 points.

The Grand Prizes:

ActiveRain and DocuSign will select 10-15 posts based on creativity, tangible solutions and practical applications to create an efficiency guide that our members can use to audit their business and possibly make changes that will make you more efficient and allow you to close more transactions, if that's something in which you're interested.

ActiveRain Grand Prizes:  Posts selected to be included in the efficiency guide will be awarded an additional 2000 points.

DocuSign Grand Prizes: $50 Visa Gift card for each post selected to be included in the efficiency guide.

While you wait for your post to win a $50 gift card and gobs of ActiveRain points, if you would like to get a 30 day free trial of DocuSign, with no credit card required, head on over here and check it out. I'm pretty sure this is only good for people that haven't tried it out before. If you already use DocuSign, you are most likely cool paying for it as it makes life much easier.
