twisted boards not sold

In order to produce a quality product, a contractor has to be able to use quality materials. Of course the improvement may dictate the final choices in the materials used, but care needs to be taken in selecting the goods. Straight boards is something we can all relate to; imagine using wood that was curved and twisted. The end product will probably be less than satisfactory.

Make the right choice.

Tom * my husband was a framing contractor in a former life and when we were building out our carport turned garage into a Great Room, I remember him being frustrated at the choice of lumber he was given.  He would go to the lumber yard and physically pick the boards to be delivered to our house for the job....most people would have no clue if they had no instruction how materials differ.

Something I leave to the experts Tom, I would have no idea what was best to use.

Tom - Yes, for sure it's the combo of quality materials and quality labor.  Sometimes people don't realize that estimates are different due to the materials used.  Often, the labor costs sare comparable.

I do the same. I need the delivery, not their selection. We all know the worse boards are always on top too, those usually get sent out. It is not very efficient to have to return 30% of the delivery.

Thanks Wallace.

Maybe so Roger, but I bet you could see a twisted board.   :)

Tom:  Skimping on materials or hiring inferior labor is never a good idea!
