I don't want to freak out anybody who actually thinks I'm somewhat sane, but I talk to voices that wouldn't be construed as "normal" every now and again.  One of those voices posed the question that is the title of this post ... I figure I should answer honestly.

You can't garner any monetary benefit from commenting or posting these days so what's the point?  You are no longer in the biz? 

Fair question.  I didn't garner any monetary benefit from meeting Jennifer Monroe here (on AR) or relocating to Charlotte because I kind of knew Debe Maxwell and that was a resource that made my life easier.  Yet, I met the love of my life and I live in a place that is pretty damn cool.  Funny how "Life" works out.  Even funnier that the life that worked out was due to this place.

Is it the points?  The ego?  The comments?  What?

Anybody who knows me knows it is not the points.  The ego, well, I'm probably guilty as charged on most accounts with that one.  Comments?  Shoot, I'm not and will never be prolific.  I'm no Lance Winslow.  I'm not here for that.  How about that I just enjoy the conversation?  Is that good enough??

Doesn't make sense.  You spend time here ... still ... and you can't legally make a profit in any way from it?  I'd love to sit back and think you were "that guy" who didn't care about such things but I know you aren't.  You have stressed in the past with finances.  You aren't now.  Congrats!

.... Family?

Exactly.  It's that type of thing.  I met my fiance here and live with her and I now live in an area of Charlotte because I decided to take someone at their blogging voice and they turned out to be absolutely wonderful.

So Why Are You Here?

AR is Family to me.  I caught them at the right time and they knew me at the wrong place.  Even still, I kind of smile still today. 

And that's why I'm on Active Rain ... it helps me smile.  My Third Family ...

I am glad I came back here and reread all. I can close my eyes, envision myself on a beach, umbrella drink in hand, not a care in the world. Upon opening my eyes, reality, the bull it is, steams over me. Where's the next buck coming from, who will be that next deal?
