The Faces of Carteret County - Meet Everett Thomas
In 2008, Carteret County was lucky to gain a new resident. 
Everett Thomas, along with his wife Phyllis, have become a very important part of our community. Everett is a part time priest at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal church in Bogue Banks, NC. He is a full time friend and advocate for the community he loves so much! In his spare time, he can be found strolling the beaches at sunrise, watching the birds and enjoying the beautiful views of the Crystal Coast. He soaks in every moment of life on an island, and shares it with the rest of us in his "poetic" speech!
He is extremely involved in the community and spends much of his time working to support the Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina. Because of Father Everett Thomas, the island now has a Kayak Club and a Yoga Program. He is an artist, a photographer, a musician and a writer. He loves living on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, and has made an effort to meet as many folks as he possibly can, and learn more about the area's history than people who have lived here forever.
Father Everett Thomas is a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend, a leader, an adventurist, an inspiration! He puts folks at ease instantly with his genuine smile, and welcomes anyone into his office for a chat. In fact, his favorite hymn is "All Are Welcome". I am proud to know Everett Thomas, and so pleased that he has become such a big part of Carteret County!
