Is it on the right or the left?

I must say, I found this little detail too good not to share.  I recently rented a car for a week.  It has been quite some time since I have had to drive a rental car.  Sure enough the first time I needed gas, I pulled up on the wrong side of the pump.   It seems every time I am driving an unfamiliar vehicle, I pull up to the gas pump ALWAYS on the wrong side of the car.  So, I turned around, filled up and was on my way.

While I was driving on the interstate later in the day, I noticed this little symbol by the gas gauge.  Now, look closely, do you see the little gas pump?  It has an arrow showing me that the gas tank was on the driver's side.  Oh how I wish I had seen that before I stopped for gas.

Now, the next time you are driving a car and don't know which side the gas tank is on, just look at the dash board.  It will save you that embarrassing moment of getting out of the vehicle and then realizing your mistake.

I don't think I would have put the two together.  I don't think I would be able to see it either.

Kathy-That's hilarious. I recently got a new car and I still, out of habit go to the wrong side of the pump. LOL, I'll look for the little arrow.

Kathy- can't tell you how many times that have happened to me.  And since I drive both of our cars I forget which side the tank is on.

Hi Kathy - I've had my car 10 years now, and I still have to think about which side the gas cap is on - thanks for a very useful tip, which I'll probably forget in a day or two :)
