Marketing Luxury Real Estate: Filling the Missing Pieces of the Puzzle

collarboration and missing puzzle pieces

As far as we are concerned, everyone involved in selling real estate would benefit from using the software application (cloud based) known as Basecamp.  We have tested many collaborative models and found them either too complicated or lacking in customer support. We all work on projects which involve team members, and if not properly organized becomes a puzzle of missing pieces. Basecamp is a cloud-based project management and collaboration app.  Customer service is excellent and an actual person responds to your query.  Furthermore, the company uses it for its own project managements and is continually updating and improving it.

Even as a solopreneur you interface with various individuals that affect your business.  Whether you are handling a listing or a transaction, you can enter all the steps (your definitive “to-do” list) necessary, and give either all or limited access to all the parties involved.  Each morning an email is generated updating all parties with any changes. This limits endless emails and keeps everything in one place.

Each project has its own page.  All the pertinent data and people are on the same page and know exactly when, where and how.  The beauty of this is that everything is documented and accessible through the cloud.   This is important when you want to take a vacation; you can   monitor your projects via the web and run you business efficiently as if you were home.

When we manage a marketing/branding project for one of our clients we post a complete to do list, and the parties interfacing in a project.  Here is an example of a typical team on a project for us:  the photographer, the graphic designer, the web developer, our SEO/SEM person, the client, the magazine company for print ads, and ourselves as the project coordinator.  Each one of these individuals has a responsibility in the project, and some interface with each other based on their needs.  You can also calendar a project citing deadlines for publication dates.

Basecamp is reasonably priced at $20.00 per month.  We highly recommend this app, and they a free 45 day trial.  Given our schedule and travel, we find this app as a lifeline in our luxury real estate marketing business as it saves us time and gives us peace of mind, which is the ultimate luxury.

Of all the tools, I have read about this is one of the most useful.  And, thanks for including the cost.   That is always a big consideration these days.

I haven't heard of Basecamp but I'm going to look into it.  I can see how useful it would be for a single agent working with a part-time, home-based assistant.

Gordon,

It is wonderfull, and what is great you don't have to check up on everyone.  With the right team you are kept abreast of everything and a project moves along, and you know immediately if there is an issue.

William,

Let us know what you think.  I like to disable comments on a reblog...the author should get the comments.  BTW I thought you opened up an interesting discussion.

Don,

You are welcome, there are some free ones out there also, but as we all know, free is often not worth the effort without Customer support and the complication.  This is easy to figure out, support is great with videos and personal care.

Dianne,

Absolutely, we work with several people that overseas, Switzerland, Costa Rica, the Eastern Seabord, Hawaii, and everything is coordinated regardless of time zones.  It is what makes things run smooth.

Kevin,

It is!

Toni, you are welcome as always.

Thanks everyone for your comments we appreciate them.  A

Sounds like you found a great tool for your team.  Is Dropbox the same type of software?

Aimee,

No, although we use Dropbox in conjunction with Basecamp, as they compliment each other.  Any one who collaborates should have some form of sharing.  A
