Many snakes are harmless to people and actually good for the environment. Some snakes are dangerous but generally don't attack unless we are invading on their space - sometimes without realizing it.
One species of snake is extremely dangerous. The burmese python is native to Southeast Asia. It has no predators in the US and can likely eat whatever it wants.
One just caught in the Everglades measured a Florida state-record 17' 7" in length - that's over twice the height of a typical residential ceiling. It was over a foot wide and had 87 eggs on board the size of small mangos.
Nothing to mess with.
Florida doesn't need these creatures - no one in the US does.
